HOURS: The Center is open to the public Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM. On holidays, call to check if the Center is open.

  • Lots of hands-on science exhibits

  • Designed for middle school students (ages 10+)

  • Groups of five or fewer can walk-in, but any larger need to schedule ahead

Red Oak Nature Center

LOCATION:   2343 S. River Street, Batavia

FEE: Admission is free for individuals and related families of 9 or fewer (suggested $1 donation per person). Entry for organized groups of 10 or more is $2 per person (required).

HOURS: Tuesday - Friday: 9:00am - 4pm | Saturday: 10am - 2pm

  • Forest Preserve on the Fox River

  • Home to the ONLY cave in the Chicagoland area!

  • Live animals in the wildlife room, including a 500 gallon turtle pond

LOCATION:  1555 Houston Street, Batavia

FEE: $1 suggested per patron

HOURS: March - November on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays - Sundays: 2:00pm - 4:00pm

June through August

2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday

12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
